moving through word of mouth and community pools for several years, i am pleased to more publicly announce a regular offering of individual study and support.
these 1:1* sessions happen both remotely and in person, across time zones and disciplines. my in person locale is currently split between chicago, il; marfa, tx and, occasionally, new york city.
these support-based offerings weave in and around dynamics of mentorship, project based support, consultation, tools for building creative practice at any stage, tailored resource gathering, reading lists, editing, community building, language building (including artist statements, project statements as well as longer form and other creative forms of writing), and if and as desired: prompts and assignments to inspire and seduce a life that prioritizes art. i want to move thoughtfully and carefully with language like ‘coaching’ or mentorship, as this work is deeply informed by unlearning the potentially harmful power dynamics involved in teacher / student mentor / mentee binaries.
my ways and care within these services are informed by personal studies and consistent reaches towards anti-institutional, non-hierarchical, anti-capitalist, abolitionist, and queer centered lines of inquiry. everything i know i have come to know because of those who blazed the path before me -- especially black and trans and disabled artists, icons, friends and writers.
while many of the artists and individuals i work with have found their way to these offerings by seeking a kind of counsel, knowing that my work blurs lines between the everyday maintenance of care + beauty and the rigor required to remain devoted to making + practicing, i feel it important to note that i am not a mental health professional. our time together will be focused on your work and what tools we may find that ensure this or any practice is one that nourishes you and your goals.

these sessions are currently offered on a sliding scale of $50-$150 / hour, with a suggested two hour minimum. i ask that resources such as property ownership, medical stability, salaried jobs, intergenerational wealth and structural access to wealth be considered. i recognize that many people will/may find themselves at intersections of different circumstance, & should assess and move in a way that makes sense to them. this proposed scale is a starting point, please reach out if you have questions. as a white and queer artist, i prioritize offering accessible resources to queer, trans, and artists of color. there is no need to disclose your circumstance when choosing to move inside or outside of this scale.
